Derbyshire Building Society and Sporting Futures work together to create the Derbyshire Building Society 10k Race and Fun Run and help raise funds for this worthwhile charity that aims to use sport as a catalyst to engage with young people enabling them to build meaningful relationships with family, friends and the wider community in which they live.
This year's 10k and Fun Run will take place on Sunday 19 April 2009. There is something for everyone from the serious to the first time fun runner. The 10k route follows a single lap through the heart of Derby. The 3k family fun run route is flat – a perfect challenge for shorter distance runners, families, children and wheelchair entrants.
Both runs cross the finish line inside Pride Park Stadium – home to Derby County Football Club. Bring your friends and family to watch from the stands to await the grandstand finish and enjoy the atmosphere of the attractions and street entertainers.
