Fairness
In 2004 we launched our Fairness brand - How Fair is that?
with a major TV and press advertising campaign. We know that
consumers don't trust most financial services companies but
they do trust The Derbyshire to treat them fairly. Our Fairness
brand is more than just an advertising idea though - its how
we run our business and it applies equally to how we treat
our people as well as our customers.
Modern Mutuality
We're proud to be an independent building society and intend
to remain so. As a mutual organisation, we have no external
shareholders and we're owned by our customers, who we call
our members. Being a mutual means we can run our business
for long-term value, by keeping our costs down and our products
and prices competitive.
Our Mission
With over £4.3 billion assets and 500,000 customers, we're
a force to be reckoned with and we're ambitious to grow our
business rapidly in the years to come. Our mission is to become
the region's leading provider of financial services to our
consumers and also to grow a substantial new business that
specialises in new sectors of the home loans market such as
buy to let mortgages.
