Leicester is the largest city and unitary authority area in the East Midlands. It lies on the River Soar, at the edge of the National Forest, and is the 10th largest city in England. Leicester has enjoyed an industrial history of knitwear, hosiery and footwear, although Walkers Crisps and Everards Brewery remain two of its most successful and best know businesses.
