Sinfin is a southern suburb of Derby, England, but historically it was a separate village. It contains the main centre of Rolls Royce. Sinfin is mentioned in the Doomsday book in 1086 as Sedenfeld, as land that belonged to Henry de Ferrers. Mention is made of land for one plough and two villains having another and of six acres of meadow.
