Save for the future of local heritage
The National Trust cares for four historic houses in Derbyshire as well as 12% of the Peak District, including valuable woodland and moorland habitat.
The National Trust is working on two projects in the local area...
Restoration at Kedleston Hall
During the last 5 years the National Trust have been restoring the Drawing Room at Kedleston Hall. The room and its contents are being restored to their former 18th century glory. This includes the cleaning and conservation of two great paintings by Benedetto Luti ‘Cain and Abel’ and ‘Christ and Mary Magdalen in the house of Simon.’
Restoration of dry stone walling
Dry stonewalls have been such an important feature of the Peak District landscape for generations; you could easily forget their importance. They not only confine and provide essential shelter for livestock; they are also an important wildlife habitat. The National Trust has already repaired some 100km of walls. However the maintenance of the walls is an enormous task and there are many more still in need of urgent upkeep and maintenance.
For every £100 you save, we will donate £1 if you keep that £100 in the account continually for 1 year. So you will get a competitive rate of interest and the more you save the greater the contribution towards preserving our local heritage.
